Dyes for soaps
With the dyes for glycerin soaps you will make your creations spectacular and have a fun and original touch. In Gran Velada you will find a wide range of soap colorants. It is important to be clear that to color soaps does not serve any coloring: they have to be cosmetic because they will be in direct contact with the skin. This type of dyes is also characterized because they are harmless and do not stain the skin when used.
If you are starting to make your own soaps, a good option is liquid dyes, as they are very easy to incorporate into the formula. Just take a few drops of these pigments to color our homemade soaps. Of course, we must bear in mind that the color can degrade over time.
Within the powder dyes, you can choose between natural, synthetic, mineral and those that we have explained above that do not migrate. The natural ones are of very high quality and come from plants, algae ... so the range of colors is more limited. Something similar happens with minerals. In this case they come from minerals and we have ranges of earth tones, greens, blues and purples. Meanwhile, water-soluble powder dyes are available in a wide palette of colors, although it must be taken into account that soap can lose color intensity over the days.
Before incorporating the powder dyes to the recipe it is advisable to add the amount of pigment that we are going to use in a ceramic mortar and add a little alcohol 96º. It is crushed well to break the color particle and thus the final tone will intensify. When we have a homogeneous mixture it is added to the base of melted soap and stirred well.
Soap paints are special for painting on soapy surfaces. They are used only to decorate or highlight details, not to paint and color all the soap. They have high power to cover and dry quickly. The paints must be used when the soap is completely dry. They are ideal for highlighting the details that some bars of soap carry, for drawing on plain tablets or for customizing them with names and dates. Advice! When you have finished using them, spray cosmetic lacquer over the entire surface about 30 cm away and let dry.
How soap dyes are used
How are dyes used? They are added to the melted soap and the amount depends on the intensity you are looking for. The same colorant can generate different shades depending on the amount that is added. Of course, it is advisable not to saturate them.
In addition, it is important to note that the final color of the soaps will depend on the glycerin soap base chosen. Opaque bases result in pastel tones, as white lightens the color. Meanwhile, with transparent bases, more vivid and intense colors are achieved.
The color palette we have created is based on the knowledge and criteria of our design team. Of course, it must be made clear that it is a subjective interpretation, since each person can have a different vision of the same color.Â
By designing a wide palette of colors we seek to adapt to all tastes and above all facilitate mixing for our customers. If you want to create your own range of colors from scratch you can do it by resorting to primary colors. In this way you will get the tonalities to be completely to your liking. We offer you all the possibilities that you decide is what best suits your needs.
