Emulsifiers for creams
Creams are the result of the union of an aqueous phase with a fatty phase. For this to happen it is necessary to use emulsifiers, since water and oil are two antagonistic ingredients that cannot be mixed naturally on their own. Hence, emulsifiers are essential when making our homemade creams.
In Gran Velada you will find several emulsifiers for creams. In the product sheet of each of them is detailed information about their characteristics, how to use them and in what quantity to add them. When making our own creams it is important to follow the recommendations that are indicated so that the final result is satisfactory.
Buy emulsifiers
In our online store you can buy cosmetic emulsifiers of two types: to make creams with more oil than water (w / o) or others with more water than oil (o / w). The former are denser and more nutritious, while the latter are much lighter. When opting for one or the other, it is necessary to take into account above all the type of skin, that is, if it is oily or dry. Depending on the cream we are going to make, we will opt for one emulsifier or another. Within our wide range of emulsifiers, Cetyl Alcohol is recommended in creams with a higher proportion of oil, while Olivem 1000 or Ester de Sucre belong to the second group.
Emulsifiers differ from each other in the way they are used, their protective value, the texture they give to the final cream or the type of skin for which they are most indicated. They can also be synthetic or natural. In our online store we bet on those of natural origin, which will provide hydration, softness and elasticity to the skin. For example, we have Soy Lecithin or Olivem 1000, derived from olive oil. Emulsifiers can be combined with each other and it will be necessary to take into account whether they are self-emulsifiers or not.
If you want to see how they are used, we invite you to visit our blogs. There you can learn how to make different creams from scratch using emulsifiers. For example, in the recipe for an eye contour cream we have used the emulsifier Olivem 1000. This same one helped us to make a nourishing cream. Meanwhile, for an anti-stretch mark we opt for the Neo / Pcl or / w self-emulsifiable emulsifier.
