Paraffin 58 for making lanterns
The paraffin for candles 58º is a basic refined paraffin. It has one of the lowest melting points. It is an ideal paraffin to make lanterns because it has a translucent appearance, in such a way that when you make the lantern and introduce a small candle inside the light will come out of the walls of the lantern, case that would not happen if you use other candles since its appearance will be more opaque.
It is a paraffin indicated for lanterns since they allow light to pass better and is very easy to mold.  The lower the melting point of paraffin, the softer and more elastic its texture will be, its appearance will be translucent and shiny, which for fans is perfect.
- Low oil content
- Only unmold once cold
- It is malleable
- Translucent appearance

Make a lantern with paraffin for candles 58º
As we have already explained, paraffin 58º is the ideal paraffin for making lanterns. The process is very simple:
First you have to heat in a pot the amount of paraffin 58º necessary to make the lantern. Do not undo it whole since the residual heat will be responsible for ending up melting it completely.
Once liquid, any candle coloring can be added. You choose the color you like best. You will see that with very little amount they dye a lot.
Apply release agent in the mold to make it easier to remove it later and place the lantern mold well (this step may vary depending on the mold chosen) to pour into the liquid paraffin.
Once completely dry it will unmold and if you want a brighter and more perfect finish you can use a clothes iron that you no longer use to iron the edges and sides and give a much more professional finish to your homemade lantern.
Paraffin 58º for making candles
With the paraffin 58º having a low melting point you can create very soft and malleable candles just with the ambient heat. So that this does not happen you can add a hardening additive such as bi-var or mix it with other paraffins that provide hardness such as paraffin 74º. Both products are intended to harden the paraffin so that it gains consistency and hardness at the same time that increases the duration of the candle.
It is important to keep in mind that due to its low melting point when lighting the candle it will take little time to consume. Therefore, if you want the candle to last much longer, it will be necessary to add additives that perform this effect and prolong its useful life. You can for example mix with 30% stearin and that way a more durable candle would be achieved.
This wax is great for making moteda candles with rustic effect. To achieve this you have to use the 1.5% magic candles additive, liquid candle dyes and aromatic essence. It is also important to use methacrylate molds. You will get some nice mottled candles!
